A message from James Cordes, 2023 President

As incoming President, I want to thank Caroline Gates for her leadership and perseverance in uncharted territory. Caroline laid out a clear vision to re-engage our membership and demonstrate the value that CCDP provides by shepherding the return of in-person monthly meetings, socials, and both introductory and advanced trainings. Her commitment to Collaborative Law left us with a blueprint for offering continued professional development and networking opportunities in a changed landscape.

For 2023, my priorities as President are to continue and expand upon Caroline’s tireless efforts to provide value to our membership base by offering multiple training opportunities, grow the practice of Collaborative Law through professional outreach and leverage of the Uniform Collaborative Law Act, offer mentorship and training through Practice Groups, and to be responsive to the evolving nature of collaborative and cooperative practice styles that help mitigate the harm that divorce causes families. I look forward to continuing the exceptional work of our past Presidents and growing the practice of Collaborative Law in Colorado.

A Farewell from Caroline Gates, 2022 President

Dear CCDP Members,

2022 marked a return to in person meetings and with that, your leadership team set a 2022 goal to see the organization grow. I’m happy to report we achieved 4% membership growth by working together to provide more value to you, our members.

Your Education Committee put on three fantastic trainings this year. We hope that you were able to attend and refine your skills while connecting with likeminded practitioners. The Practice Group Committee did a tremendous amount of leg work this year to get our arms around which practice groups need additional support and defining best practices of our most cohesive practice groups. Socials Committee was also very active this year providing opportunities for us all to connect and grow as a community. I’m confident that each of CCDP’s committees will continue to provide a great value to you, our members.

At an organizational level your board voted to update our bylaws to expand our organization to more broadly serve members.

With a new year comes a new leadership team; I’m delighted to pass the presidential baton to James Cordes who will do a fantastic job of leading the organization. It’s my pleasure to welcome Todd Huettner to the executive committee as Secretary and Zac Roeling will assume the Executive Vice President role. I’m so excited to see how they continue to evolve the organization and serve you, our members.

Thank you all for your friendship over the years. It’s been my pleasure to serve as your president and I look forward to seeing you all at a CCDP social soon!

All the Best, Caroline
